FIRST NATIONS ELECTIONS ACT

Whereas the council of the Paqtnkek Mi’kmaw Nation has provided to the Minister of Indigenous Services a resolution, adopted on June 24, 2025, requesting that the name of the First Nation be added to the schedule to the First Nations Elections Act footnote a;

Therefore, the Minister of Indigenous Services makes the annexed Order Amending the Schedule to the First Nations Elections Act (Paqtnkek Mi’kmaw Nation) under section 3 of the First Nations Elections Act footnote a.

Order Amending the Schedule to the First Nations Elections Act (Paqtnkek Mi’kmaw Nation)

Amendment

1 The schedule to the First Nations Elections Act footnote a is amended by adding the following in numerical order:

First Election Date

2 In accordance with subsection 3(2) of the First Nations Elections Act, the date of the first election of the council of the Paqtnkek Mi’kmaw Nation is fixed as November 26, 2025.

Coming into Force

3 This Order comes into force on the day on which it is registered.
