Order Authorizing the Issue of Two Ten-cent Commemorative Circulation Coins Specifying the Characteristics and Determining the Designs (Bluenose)

His Excellency the Administrator of the Government of Canada in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Finance, pursuant to sections 6.4 footnote a and 6.5 footnote aof the Royal Canadian Mint Act footnote b, authorizes the issue of two ten-cent circulation coins, the characteristics of which are to be as specified in item 5.1 footnote c of Part 2 of the schedule to that Act and the diameter of which is to be 18.03 mm, and determines the design of the coins to be as follows:
- (a) a coloured ten-cent coin
- (i) the obverse impression of which is to depict the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt, with the initials “SB” on the bottom left-hand corner of the neckline, the inscriptions “ELIZABETH II” and “D•G•REGINA” to the left and right of the effigy, respectively, the Mint Mark (an encircled design composed of a stylized maple leaf emerging from the letter “M”) below the neckline and beading around the circumference of the coin, and
- (ii) the reverse impression of which is to depict the Bluenose under full sail on the blue waters of the Atlantic Ocean, with to the right of the Bluenose the inscriptions “10 CENTS”, “1921” and “2021” one below the other, to the left of the Bluenose the artist's initials “YB” and above the Bluenose the inscription “CANADA”; and
- (b) a ten-cent coin
- (i) the obverse impression of which is to depict the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt, with the initials “SB” on the bottom left-hand corner of the neckline, the inscriptions “ELIZABETH II” and “D•G•REGINA” to the left and right of the effigy, respectively, the Mint Mark (an encircled design composed of a stylized maple leaf emerging from the letter “M”) below the neckline and beading around the circumference of the coin, and
- (ii) the reverse impression of which is to depict the Bluenose under full sail on the waters of the Atlantic Ocean, with to the right of the Bluenose the inscriptions “10 CENTS”, “1921” and “2021” one below the other, to the left of the Bluenose the artist's initials “YB” and above the Bluenose the inscription “CANADA”.
