Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Prime Minister, pursuant to paragraph 2(a) ^{footnote a} of the Public Service Rearrangement and Transfer of Duties Act ^{footnote b}, transfers from the Minister of Industry to the Minister of Economic Development and Official Languages the powers, duties and functions of the Minister of Industry with respect to the Federal Economic Development Initiative for Northern Ontario.
