Transfer of Duties Order

His Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Prime Minister, pursuant to paragraph 2(a) (see footnote a) of the Public Service Rearrangement and Transfer of Duties Act (see footnote b), transfers to the Department of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness from the Department of National Defence the control and supervision of that portion of the federal public administration, known as the National Search and Rescue Secretariat.
