CANADIAN ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION ACT, 1999

Notice with respect to the availability of an equivalency agreement in Alberta (upstream oil and gas sector)

Pursuant to subsection 10(4) of the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999, notice is hereby given that the Minister of the Environment makes available, before it is entered into, the Agreement on the Equivalency of Federal and Alberta Regulations Respecting the Release of Methane from the Oil and Gas Sector in Alberta, 2025.

The proposed agreement is available as of July 5, 2025, on the Canadian Environmental Protection Act Registry.

Any person may, within 60 days after the publication of this notice, file with the Minister comments or a notice of objection. All such comments and notices must cite the proposed Alberta Equivalency Agreement, the present notice and its date of publication in the Canada Gazette, Part I, and be sent to the following contact person.
