CAPITAL ONE, NATIONAL ASSOCIATION
APPLICATION TO ESTABLISH A FOREIGN BANK BRANCH
Notice is given pursuant to subsection 525(2) of the Bank Act (Canada) that Capital One, National Association, a foreign bank with its head office in McLean, Virginia, United States of America, and a wholly owned subsidiary of Capital One Financial Corporation, intends to apply to the Minister of Finance (Canada) for an order permitting it to establish a full-service branch in Canada to carry on the business of banking in Canada. The branch will carry on business under the name Capital One Bank (Canada Branch). Its principal office will be located in Toronto, Ontario.
Any person who objects to the proposed order may submit an objection in writing to the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (Canada), 255 Albert Street, Ottawa, Ontario K1A 0H2, on or before August 30, 2021.
The publication of this notice should not be construed as evidence that an order will be issued to establish the foreign bank branch. The granting of the order will be dependent on the normal Bank Act (Canada) application review process and the discretion of the Minister of Finance (Canada).

RELEASE OF ASSETS
Pursuant to section 651 of the Insurance Companies Act (Canada) (the “Act”), notice is hereby given that Gerber Life Insurance Company intends to apply to the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (Canada), on or after July 26th, 2021, for an order authorizing the release of the assets that it maintains in Canada in accordance with the Act.
Any policyholder or creditor in respect of Gerber Life Insurance Company’s insurance business in Canada opposing such release is invited to file an opposition by mail to the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (Canada), Regulatory Affairs Division, 255 Albert Street, Ottawa, Ontario K1A 0H2, or by email at approvalsandprecedents@osfi-bsif.gc.ca, on or before July 26th, 2021.
