ECONOMICAL MUTUAL INSURANCE COMPANY

APPLICATION TO ESTABLISH AN INSURANCE COMPANY

Notice is hereby given, pursuant to subsection 25(2) of the Insurance Companies Act (Canada), that Economical Mutual Insurance Company intends to file with the Superintendent of Financial Institutions, on or after February 1, 2021, an application for the Minister of Finance to issue letters patent incorporating an insurance company to own and operate property and casualty insurance businesses in Canada, to provide services to its affiliates and to carry on such other activities as its board may approve from time to time. Its head office will be located in Waterloo, Ontario.

The proposed insurance company will carry on business in Canada under the legal names “Economical Holdings Corporation” in the English form and “Corporation Holding Économique” in the French form.

Any person who objects to the proposed incorporation may submit an objection in writing to the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions, 255 Albert Street, 12th Floor, Ottawa, Ontario K1A 0H2, on or before March 1, 2021.

Note: The publication of this notice should not be construed as evidence that letters patent will be issued to incorporate the property and casualty insurance company. The granting of the letters patent will be dependent upon the normal Insurance Companies Act (Canada) application review process and the discretion of the Minister of Finance.

APPLICATION TO ESTABLISH A CANADIAN BRANCH

Notice is hereby given that Privilege Underwriters Reciprocal Exchange, a Florida domiciled reciprocal insurer, which principally carries on business in the United States of America, intends to file, under section 574 of the Insurance Companies Act (Canada), with the Superintendent of Financial Institutions, on or after January 30, 2021, an application for an order approving the insuring in Canada of risks, under the English name Privilege Underwriters Reciprocal Exchange and the French name PURE Assurances. Privilege Underwriters Reciprocal Exchange is a property and casualty reciprocal exchange and intends to insure personal lines property and casualty risks in Canada, including those falling under the classes of property, liability and automobile insurance. The principal corporate office of the company is located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, with its administrative office in White Plains, New York. Its Canadian chief agency will be located in Toronto, Ontario.

Notice is hereby given, pursuant to subsection 25(2) of the Insurance Companies Act (Canada), that Trupanion, Inc. intends to apply to the Minister of Finance for letters patent to incorporate a property and casualty insurance company. The proposed property and casualty insurance company will carry on business in Canada under the name GPIC Insurance Company / Compagnie d'assurance GPIC and its head office will be located in North Vancouver, British Columbia.

The proposed property and casualty insurance company intends to carry on a specialty property insurance (pet insurance) business.

Any person who objects to the issuance of these letters patent may submit an objection in writing to the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions, 255 Albert Street, Ottawa, Ontario K1A 0H2, on or before February 23, 2021.
