APPLICATION TO ESTABLISH A TRUST COMPANY

Notice is hereby given that Computershare Trust Company of Canada, a trust company incorporated under the Trust and Loan Companies Act (Canada) [the “Act”], intends to file with the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (the “Superintendent”) on or after March 15, 2019, an application pursuant to subsection 24(2) of the Act, seeking the approval of the Minister of Finance for letters patent incorporating a trust company under the Act, to carry on the business of a trust company under the name of CPU Trust Company of Canada. Its head office will be located in Montréal, Quebec.

Any person who objects to the proposed incorporation may submit an objection in writing to the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions at 255 Albert Street, Ottawa, Ontario K1A 0H2, on or before May 15, 2019.

Note: The publication of this notice should not be construed as evidence that letters patent will be issued to establish the trust company. The granting of the letters patent will be dependent upon the normal Trust and Loan Companies Act (Canada) application review process and the discretion of the Minister of Finance.

ASSUMPTION REINSURANCE AGREEMENT

Notice is hereby given that the Canadian branch of Liberty Specialty Markets Bermuda Limited (formerly, Ironshore Insurance Ltd.) [“Ironshore”], pursuant to section 587.1 of the Insurance Companies Act (Canada), intends to make an application to the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (Canada) [the “Superintendent”] on or after April 22, 2019, for the Superintendent’s approval to enter into an assumption reinsurance agreement (the “Assumption Reinsurance Agreement”) with the Canadian branch of Liberty Mutual Insurance Company (“LMIC”), under which Ironshore shall agree to cede to LMIC, and LMIC shall agree to reinsure, on an assumption basis, all of the insurance liabilities undertaken by Ironshore in respect of its policies in Canada, including all present and future obligations under such risks.

A copy of the proposed Assumption Reinsurance Agreement will be available for inspection by the policyholders of Ironshore and LMIC during regular business hours at the office of the Chief Agent of the Canadian branch of Ironshore located at 333 Bay Street, Toronto, Ontario M5H 4A6 and the Canadian branch of LMIC located at 181 Bay Street, Suite 1000, Brookfield Place, Toronto, Ontario M5J 2T3, for a period of 30 days following publication of this notice. Any policyholder who wishes to obtain a copy of the Assumption Reinsurance Agreement may do so in writing to either Chief Agent at the above-noted addresses.

Notice is hereby given that Validus Reinsurance, Ltd., an entity incorporated and formed under the laws of Bermuda, intends to file with the Superintendent of Financial Institutions, on or after April 8, 2019, an application under section 574 of the Insurance Companies Act (Canada) for an order to insure in Canada risks, under the name Validus Reinsurance, Ltd. In particular, Validus Reinsurance, Ltd. intends to provide in Canada treaty and facultative reinsurance of commercial property and casualty and specialty risks. All classes of insurance will be limited to the business of reinsurance.
