SPECIES AT RISK ACT

Description of critical habitat for the Western Chorus Frog, Great Lakes / St. Lawrence–Canadian Shield population, in Wellers Bay National Wildlife Area and Thousand Islands National Park of Canada

The Western Chorus Frog (Pseudacris triseriata), Great Lakes /St. Lawrence–Canadian Shield population, is a small amphibian that breeds in temporary wetlands located in open habitats or discontinuous forests and is listed on Schedule 1 of the Species at Risk Act as Threatened. In Canada, the Western Chorus Frog, Great Lakes / St. Lawrence–Canadian Shield population, is found in the lowlands of southern Ontario and southwestern Quebec.

The Recovery Strategy for the Western Chorus Frog (Pseudacris triseriata), Great Lakes / St. Lawrence–Canadian Shield population in Canada (http://www.registrelep.gc.ca/document/default_e.cfm?documentID=1312) identifies critical habitat for the species in a number of areas, including federally protected areas.

Notice is hereby given that, pursuant to subsection 58(2) of the Species at Risk Act, subsection 58(1) of that Act applies, 90 days after publication of this notice, to the critical habitat of the Western Chorus Frog, Great Lakes / St. Lawrence–Canadian Shield population, as identified in the recovery strategy on the Species at Risk Public Registry, within the following federally protected areas: Wellers Bay National Wildlife Area, described in Schedule 1 of the Wildlife Area Regulations made pursuant to the Canada Wildlife Act, and in Thousand Islands National Park of Canada, described in Schedule 1 of the Canada National Park Act.

Notice is hereby given that Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada is releasing the following document:

This issue of the ICES-005 standard will come into force on the first day of December 2016, after which date compliance with ICES-005, Issue 3, will no longer be accepted.

General information

The review of ICES-005 has been coordinated with industry through the Radio Advisory Board of Canada.

The Radio Equipment Standards Lists will be amended accordingly.

Submitting comments

Interested parties are requested to provide their comments within 90 days of the date of publication of this notice using the online General Inquiry form at http://www.ic.gc.ca/eic/site/ceb-bhst.nsf/frm-eng/EABV-9X4GEH.
