DOMINION WATER-POWER APPLICATION

Fortis Properties Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Fortis Inc. (TSX: FTS, 139 Water Street, P.O. Box 8837, St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador A1B 3T2), hereby gives notice that on September 9, 2011, an application was filed with the Director of Waterpower, Parks Canada Agency, under the Dominion Water Power Act (DWPA), for a licence to continue to operate the generating station facilities at Jones Falls.

The site of the facility is at Jones Falls lock, approximately 4 km west from Highway 15 on Jones Falls Road (County Road 11), on the Rideau Canal National Historic Site of Canada. The facility has been operated by Fortis Properties Corporation and its predecessor, Granite Power Corporation, since 1948. The plant is capable of producing 2 400 kW of electricity.
