REGULATIONS AMENDING THE CANADA GRAIN REGULATIONS (TABLE 58 OF SCHEDULE 3)

AMENDMENT

1. Table 58 of Schedule 3 to the Canada Grain Regulations (see footnote 1) is amended by replacing the number “5” in the column under the heading “Fusarium %” opposite “No. 2 CW” in the column under the heading “Grade Name” with the number “4”.

COMING INTO FORCE

2. These Regulations come into force on August 1, 2014, but if they are registered after that day, they come into force on the day on which they are registered.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations.)

The change outlined below results from a review of the Schedule 3 tables of the Canada Grain Regulations (CGR) by the Canadian Grain Commission’s Manager of Quality Assurance Standards and Reinspection. This review identified that the fusarium tolerance levels of the General Purpose wheat class (Table 58) need to be amended and updated to reflect a change previously recommended by the Western Standards Committee. This change was made to the Canadian Grain Commission’s Official Grain Grading Guide (OGGG) and the industry is aware of this change, which amends the tolerance for fusarium to 4% for Grade No. 2 CW of the General Purpose wheat class. This change is to be implemented August 1, 2014, or if not registered by that date, on the date the amendment is registered.

Table 58 of Schedule 3 of the CGR is amended as follows:
