FINANCIAL ADMINISTRATION ACT

Amina Daher Remission Order

P.C. 2013-387 April 18, 2013

His Excellency the Governor General in Council, considering that the collection of the debts is unjust, on the recommendation of the Minister of Human Resources and Skills Development, the Minister of National Revenue and the Treasury Board, pursuant to subsection 23(2.1) (see footnote a) of the Financial Administration Act (see footnote b), remits to Amina Daher the amount of $6,458.01 paid or payable under Part I of the Income Tax Act (see footnote c) by her as repayment of Canada child tax benefits received with respect to the 2004, 2005 and 2006 base taxation years and the amount of $2,200.00 paid or payable under the Universal Child Care Benefit Act (see footnote d) by her as repayment of benefits received in the 2007 and 2008 taxation years.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order.)

The Order remits a total of $8,658.01 with respect to Canada child tax benefits and universal child care benefits received by Amina Daher in error, to which she was not entitled. This debt is remitted because its collection would be unjust as it would cause extreme hardship for the debtor and because the debt was the result of an error on the part of the Canada Revenue Agency as to her entitlement to the benefits.
