FINANCIAL ADMINISTRATION ACT

Norman Miller Tax Remission Order

P.C. 2011-1341 November 17, 2011

His Excellency the Governor General in Council, considering that the collection of the tax is unjust, on the recommendation of the Minister of National Revenue, pursuant to subsection 23(2) (see footnote a) of the Financial Administration Act (see footnote b), hereby remits tax in the amount of $2,770.64, and all relevant interest on it, paid or payable under Part Ⅰ of the Income Tax Act (see footnote c) by Norman Miller for the 1980 taxation year.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order.)

This Order remits a portion of the income tax and all relevant interest paid or payable thereon by Norman Miller in respect of the 1980 taxation year.

Mr. Miller was unable to address his income tax debt for the 1980 taxation year due to financial difficulties. These difficulties have continued since and interest charges have increased the debt to a level where paying it would cause extreme hardship for Mr. Miller.
