The Minister of Transport, pursuant to section 2 of the Ministerial Regulations Authorization Order(see footnote a), hereby makes the annexed Regulations Amending the Airport Vehicle Parking Charges Regulations.

REGULATIONS AMENDING THE AIRPORT VEHICLE PARKING CHARGES REGULATIONS

AMENDMENT

1. The portion of item 4 of the schedule to the Airport Vehicle Parking Charges Regulations(see footnote 1)in column I is replaced by the following:

4.	Parking at a public parking lot where the services of an attendant are provided, other than an area described in item 5

Issue and objectives

The regulatory action is corrective in nature, meant to eliminate an erroneous cross-reference in the schedule to the Regulations. The necessity of this regulatory amendment was pointed out by the Standing Joint Committee on Regulations.

Item 4 of the schedule that appeared in the Regulations Amending the Airport Vehicle Parking ChargesRegulations (SOR/97-216) was removed from the schedule by a subsequent regulatory amendment (SOR/98-562). As a result, item 5 was renumbered as item 4, and item 6 was renumbered as item 5. However, the reference to item 6 in the expression “other than an area described in item 6,” of item 4 of the schedule was not amended accordingly. The objective of the regulatory action is to correct this oversight.

Description and rationale

The reference to item 6 in the expression “other than an area described in item 6” of item 4 is amended to read “other than an area described in item 5,” to correct the error in the cross-reference.

The regulatory action will not impact other areas or sectors.

Consultation

Consultation covering the amendment has already been completed as a result of the regulatory amendment under SOR/98-562.
