ASSUMPTION REINSURANCE AGREEMENT

Notice is hereby given, in accordance with the provisions of subsection 587.1(4) of the Insurance Companies Act (Canada), that Gerber Life Insurance Company (“Gerber Life”) intends to make an application to the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (the “Superintendent”), on or after October 19, 2020, for the Superintendent’s approval to cause itself to be reinsured, on an assumption basis, against all of the risks undertaken by Gerber Life in respect of all of its individual life insurance policies issued in Canada by Canadian Premier Life Insurance Company.

A copy of the proposed assumption reinsurance agreement and the report of the independent actuary will be available for inspection by the policyholders of Gerber Life for a period of 30 days following publication of this notice at the offices of its Chief Agent, located at CAS Accounting for Insurance, 1145 Nicholson Road, Unit 2, Newmarket, Ontario L3Y 9C3, during regular business hours. Policyholders may also obtain a copy of the assumption reinsurance agreement or the report of the independent actuary by sending a request in writing to the Chief Agent, Colleen Sexsmith, at the above-mentioned address.

THE SHIPOWNERS’ MUTUAL PROTECTION AND INDEMNITY ASSOCIATION (LUXEMBOURG)

RELEASE OF ASSETS

Pursuant to section 651 of the Insurance Companies Act (Canada) [the “Act”], notice is hereby given that The Shipowners’ Mutual Protection and Indemnity Association (Luxembourg) applied to the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (Canada), on August 10, 2020, for an order authorizing the release of the assets that it maintains in Canada in accordance with the Act.

Any policyholder or creditor in respect of The Shipowners’ Mutual Protection and Indemnity Association (Luxembourg)’s insurance business in Canada opposing such release is invited to file an opposition by mail to the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (Canada), Regulatory Affairs Division, 255 Albert Street, Ottawa, Ontario K1A 0H2, or by email at approvalsandprecedents@osfi-bsif.gc.ca, on or before October 31, 2020.
