APPLICATION TO ESTABLISH A FOREIGN BANK BRANCH

Notice is hereby given, pursuant to subsection 525(2) of the Bank Act, that Bank of Communications Co., Ltd., a foreign bank with its head office in Shanghai, China, intends to apply to the Minister of Finance for an order permitting it to establish a foreign bank branch in Canada to carry on the business of banking.

The branch will carry on business in Canada under the name Bank of Communications Co., Ltd. Toronto Branch, and its principal office will be located in Toronto, Ontario.

Any person who objects to the proposed order may submit an objection in writing to the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions, 255 Albert Street, Ottawa, Ontario K1A 0H2, on or before November 7, 2016.

Note: The publication of this notice should not be construed as evidence that an order will be issued to establish the foreign bank branch. The granting of the order will be dependent upon the normal Bank Act application review process and the discretion of the Minister of Finance.

The Ministry of Transportation of Ontario hereby gives notice that an application has been made to the Minister of Transport under the Navigation Protection Act for approval of the plans and site of the work described herein. Under paragraph 5(6)(b) of the said Act, the Ministry of Transportation of Ontario has deposited with the Minister of Transport and in the County of Haldimand at Land Registry Office No. 18, 10 Echo Street W, Cayuga, Ontario, under deposit No. HC305028, a description of the site and plans for the replacement of the Argyle Street Bridge, over the Grand River at Argyle Street, in the former Township of Caledonia, Ward 3 of Haldimand County, Ontario, from 10 m north of Forfar Street W to 40 m south of Caithness Street W.

Comments regarding the effect of this work on marine navigation may be directed to the Regional Manager, Navigation Protection Program, Transport Canada, 100 Front Street S, Sarnia, Ontario N7T 2M4. However, comments will be considered only if they are in writing and are received not later than 30 days after the date of publication of the last notice. Although all comments conforming to the above will be considered, no individual response will be sent.

Notice is hereby given that Wilton Re (Canada) Limited, an entity incorporated in Bermuda, intends to file with the Superintendent of Financial Institutions, under section 574 of the Insurance Companies Act (Canada), on or after October 2, 2016, an application for an order approving the insuring in Canada of risks under the class of life insurance limited to the business of reinsurance.
