Notice is hereby given, pursuant to subsection 525(2) of the Bank Act, that ABN AMRO Bank N.V., a foreign bank with its head office in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, intends to apply to the Minister of Finance for an order permitting it to establish a foreign bank branch in Canada to carry on the business of banking. The branch will carry on business in Canada under the name ABN AMRO Bank N.V., Canadian branch, and its principal office will be located in Toronto, Ontario.

TRENT-SEVERN WATERWAY

DOMINION WATER POWER APPLICATION

Notice is hereby given that, pursuant to subsection 19(2) of the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act that the review of an application to develop hydro-electric power at Locks 24 and 25 on the Otonabee River, north of Peterborough, Ontario, has been completed. An Environmental Report and Screening Determination approving the project have been completed under the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act.

Copies of the Environmental Report and Determination Document may be viewed at the Trent-Severn Waterway Office, 2155 Ashburnham Drive, Peterborough, Ontario.

A public open house will be held at St. John's Anglican Church Hall, Queen and Regent Streets, Lakefield, Ontario, from 7 to 9 p.m., May 24, 2001.

Anyone wishing to submit comments on the project must do so in writing within 30 days of the publication of this notice to the Director of Water Power, Trent-Severn Waterway, P.O. Box 567, Peterborough, Ontario K9J 6Z6.
